4YE Gives Thanks: Five Things Kayleigh Is Thankful For In Pop Culture

1.The Hunger Games Series:

After being a part of something as huge as the Harry Potter series, I am hugely grateful for The Hunger Games.  It meant that I had a new book series to fall in love with,  and that my friend Sarah and I had another fandom in common. And I can’t wait to see Mockingjay Part 2 with her this Weekend!

2.Sebastian Stan:

My love/obsession or general fangirling for the SebStan has been well documented here at 4YE, and it isn’t hard to see why! No matter what role he seems to play, Sebastian Stan is one of the most talented actors ever. He always seems to pull at all our feels! And I’m sure I am not the only one who wants him back in Once Upon a Time, which brings me to point 3:

3.Once Upon a Time:

Since getting back to college this year, after summer break, I got back into OUAT  (mainly due to Netflix).  I have now re-watched the entire series and I have fallen back in love with it and the characters. Now don’t get me wrong, I was never sold on the Frozen storyline, but now that Merida and Camelot are involved, I feel like it has returned to its best. And while we are one the subject: how amazing was Jennifer Morrison as the Dark Swan this season?? Between the costume and her complete 360 from “normal” Emma to the Dark One was incredible, and if Jennifer doesn’t get any recognition for her work then there is something seriously wrong.

4.Binge watching Netflix:

One of the main things I am grateful for in 2015 is the fact,  I finally setup my Netflix account. And yes I know, it took me a while to get round to setting it up, but now that I have it, I’m starting to wonder why I didn’t do it sooner! Watching Netflix has become one of my favorite ways to relax, and because of it, I have watched so many shows I did not have the opportunity to watch previously.

A prime example of this is Orphan Black. Yes,  I know, I’m late to the game on this one, but if you guys saw the amount of shows I needed to get around to, then this really wouldn’t be  that much of a shocker. Saying that, I do think that it was a massive fail on my part not to listen to people when they told me how great the show was. Now I’m pretty much a covert to the series and to Netflix, so let the binge watching commence!

5.Chris Colfer’s The Land of Stories:

Now I wasn’t the biggest fan of Glee, but I do love a good book series. I am hugely grateful to Chris Colfer for creating The Land of Stories, because it is a series that I can re-read over and over again and fall into the magical world that Colfer has created. The series is right up my street, mixing the old traditional fairy tales that I grew up with, with new characters, like Alex and Conner Bailey. And I don’t know how Colfer does it, but it feels like the twins have always been part of the universe!
