Get Ready: New Suicide Squad Pictures Have Us Beyond Ready

New pictures featuring the Suicide Squad cast have made their way online from Empire magazine’s upcoming issue. And, let me tell you, they are doing nothing to curb my excitement for the movie to come out. If anything they are making it worse.

Jared Leto’s Joker graces the cover of the issue. It is the first time we are getting a close up, full length view of the character. He appears with his iconic purple jacket. Underneath he is shirtless which gives us a partial view of the tattoo covering his body. He definitely looks like someone you wouldn’t want to run into on dark street in the middle of the night. Or even in daylight on a crowded street, really.

Batman artist, Jock, shared a picture of his copy on Twitter.

As for the rest of the pictures, they feature pictures of Harley Quinn, played by Margot Robbie, and the Joker, which is probably a flashback to when Harley was actually Harleen as she isn’t donning her red and blue but glasses and a white jacket instead. And the Joker is wrapped up in a straight jacket.

Also pictured is Viola Davis as Suicide Squad leader, Amanda Waller in front of the squad members’ mugshot pictures. As much as I am excited to see all the member of the squad, I am equally excited to see Viola Davis take on Waller. I can’t think of any one better to play the role, and I know she will be great.

It feels like it’s impossible for me to be anymore excited for this movie, but these pictures are definitely helping.

Suicide Squad also stars Will Smith, Jai Courtney, Cara Delevingne, Jay Hernandez, and Joel Kinnaman, with David Ayer directing.

Unfortunately we still have a while to wait for the movie to come out in the movie theaters, but be sure to check out the full article on Suicide Squad in Empire’s December issue. The movie is set to hit theaters August 5, 2016.
