Could The Latest Reports From Game Of Thrones Filming Confirm Jon Snow’s Fate?

Warning: If you haven’t seen the season 5 finale of Game of Thrones, there are spoilers ahead!

It was the biggest shocker in the season finale of season five of Game of Thrones earlier this year: is Jon Snow REALLY dead? As we’ve already reported, even the director of the final two episodes of the series, David Nutter, told Deadline that Jon Snow had died in the season finale, adding, “It’s really the true Julius Caesar moment for Jon Snow.” So of course we all thought that Jon was a goner right? Well if recent reports are to be believed, Jon Snow might actually have a larger role in the sixth season then we might have thought.

If I’m being honest, I didn’t expect Jon Snow to be back next season, or any future seasons after that, as at the end of the season finale the guy looked pretty dead. But I won’t be upset if Jon ends up coming back, I’ll probably get very excited, but at the moment, his return is still speculation and rumours.

The rumours that Jon Snow might not be dead have been around ever since filming for the sixth season began with Kit Harington being spotted around Belfast, where Game of Thrones is filmed. Now according to fansite watchersonthewall, Kit Harington isn’t there just to catch up with his GOT friends. Oh no, if reports are to be believed, Jon Snow is alive and well… and ready for a battle!

According to the site, one of the bigger battles next season will take place in the North, which will involve “many northern armies fighting including the Umbers, the Boltons, wildings and more!” The article goes on to say that Kit Harington was reportedly spotted at the location where the battle was being filmed, and was “participating in shooting this week”. Another cast member who was spotted on the location was Iwan Rheon, who we all know as Ramsay Bolton. This isn’t a very shocking discovery as if the Boltons are going to battle, then Ramsay will be there front and centre. But what Jon Snow will be doing at the battle, I’m not entirely sure. But I think it might be fair to say that after the mutiny of the Night’s Watch, then perhaps Jon’s allegiance might shift towards the wildings, or another northern family, and then fight with them during this battle.

It’s unlikely that we get any official confirmation about Kit Harington’s return until season six airs early next year. Until then, we will keep you posted on any more updates about the show as soon as they happen!
