Get those stethoscopes and ice cream bowls ready. The Mindy Project‘s new season is coming a lot sooner than you think.
The comedy has had quite the year so far; first, it was canceled by Fox, much to the dismay of fans everywhere (including this one). That was short-lived though as Hulu came to its rescue not too long after and gave it a 26 episode order for a fourth season (be still our Mindy loving hearts).
Recently it was announced that Joseph Gordon-Levitt was joining the cast for its season premiere. The new season premiere will show two worlds colliding when an alternate-reality pairs Mindy with a reality show producer (Gordon-Levitt) instead of partner and fellow OBGYN, Danny Castellano (Chris Messina). Think Sliding Doors if you will.
Today’s Mindy news brings the official premiere date. The Mindy Project will premiere on its new Hulu home on Tuesday, September 15. Hulu’s head of content Craig Erwich shared the premiere date at the recent TCA press tour. Erwich also shared that all original programming on the service will release one new episode every week.
“With all of our new originals, we will release episodes weekly,” Erwich stated. “We want to give viewers the opportunity to discover their favorite shows every week. Like you, we value the shared experience and the joy of the watercooler that is television. This will also allow us to get the shows out to our audiences faster, without waiting for full series completion.”
Mark those calendars now and arrange those dates with the girlfriends as The Mindy Project will be back in less than a month. If you need a refresher, please check out our recaps from last season!
