Fantastic Four is opening this week.
After months and months of hearing about it, I admit that I’m pretty excited to see the film.
A lot of details have been kept under wraps about the film. The trailers and TV spots show very similar footage, and we have barely heard Ben Grimm (Jamie Bell) speak post-transformation.
You know what? It’s the best way to handle a reboot that many fans are still on the fence about. You build up curiosity and suspense that way you have a crowd opening weekend.
Of course, another thing I like about going to the movies is catching the trailers. I guess I’m just weird like that.
But you don’t want to miss this new trailer for Fantastic Four. Not only do we see itty-bitty Reed Richards, but there’s a special surprise at the end of it.
Why yes. That is Deadpool shamelessly plugging his movie.
(The trailer drops tonight on the Conan show. Exciting I know!)
It’s not a surprise that Deadpool would air before the Fantastic Four. The franchises are both under the control of 20th Century Fox. So they would, naturally, pair their movies together to get fans excited.
Not to mention, the Deadpool trailer is freaking hilarious. I’m definitely not missing the trailers for Fantastic Four now.
(I’m sure I’ll have watch the trailer a million times by the time I go see the film, but I don’t care. At all. I’m ready for high quality version of this trailer.)
Although, just one thing, why isn’t Ben Grimm wearing pants? I know it’s like a realistic take on what if superheroes exist, but the lack of pants is weirding me out a bit.
Even though Deadpool highjacked this trailer, don’t count out a future team-up between the X-Men and the Fantastic Four. Let’s hope the Merc with a Mouth gets in on the fun.
Fantastic Four opens August 7th.
