Honest Trailers Reminds Us How (Hilariously) Awful The Two Fantastic Four Films Were

The 2005 and 2008 version of the Fantastic Four are not very good movies.

Oh sure. We have shirtless Chris Evans walking around and Jessica Alba is Jessica Alba. Let’s be real though. Pretty actors do not make a good movie.

If they did, then I probably would have had a warmer reaction to Man of Steel.

Fantastic Four and Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer are not good movies. They are, in my opinion, hilariously bad movies. I mean it focuses on such weird and random things like Chris Evans trying to make them famous without really doing anything.

Also when Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm switch powers.

It’s a thing that happened in these movie.

In order to celebrate the release of the rebooted Fantastic Four, Screen Junkies decided to give their customary Honest Trailer treatment to these two films.

And oh boy, they don’t hold anything back.

Well damn.

I know this is all in the name of comedy, but I have to say I agree with the narrator about these things.

I am sure that Chris Evans will be happy to work with directors who try to make their films Honest Trailer proof. (What up, Russo Brothers?)

Still these two movies came on the tail end of a really dark time in superhero film history. Like Ben Affleck’s Daredevil bad. Of course, watching these films now, I tend to watch them for more humor than anything else.

We still have some amazing superhero films out there. Embrace the bad ones, watch them with your friends, and riff on them like hell.

That way when you watch a kick ass film, you can enjoy it.

Fantastic Four will be in theatres this Friday (August 7th).
