Put down whatever you are doing.
Put it down. Now.
The official Deadpool trailer is here in all its amazingly raunchy, hyper-violent glory. Conan had to be rated TV-MA just to show the damn thing. So we are going to bask in it like we have never basked before.
The trailer was shown at SDCC 2015, but due to technical difficulties the release had to be delayed. Some fans (not naming names) had to content themselves with watching inferior qualities online or patiently wait for it to drop.
I am not a patient person at all.
But I do have to admit that it was worth the wait because it is glorious.
Everything that I could have hoped for and more.
So let’s watch the damn thing already!
Can we all agrees that Ryan Reynolds is perfectly cast? And that I am already loving Deadpool?
Superhero movies are in a renaissance. Outside of a few films (Guardians of the Galaxy), they have lost a bit of that campy weird fun. So it’s great to see Deadpool rightfully bring that irreverent humor back to the forefront for the genre.
As is his due after what happened in X-Men Origins: Wolverine.
Because that? It was bad.
It is also nice to see Ryan Reynolds in, what appears to be, a good movie. I love the actor, but some of his films have no been food. After this movie comes out, I think we can all agree to forget that 2011’s Green Lantern existed.
Who else is ready for Deadpool? Did the trailer live up to all of your expectations? Are you going to watch it five million times? I know I am.
Deadpool comes out February 12, 2016.
