What I love about the Internet is all the wonderful things you discover that you never knew you needed in your life. From the latest, weirdest gadget that spends its life sitting in its box at the back of your cupboard, to the most amazing mashup of two completely different musical genres that if you hadn’t heard it with your own ears you would have surely thought someone was smoking something to put them together.
Some of the best examples of this are the pop culture mashups. Themed music videos, fanart, posters, memes, I just live for this stuff, so you can imagine my excitement with a recent post over at Cosmopolitan.
As many of us know, the XXL sequel to the hit stripper movie Magic Mike was released this week. While we have all been gifted in the lead up to the release with a number of delightful posters, images and sneak peeks, the good folks at Cosmo have made into reality what a number of us have discussed or at least thought about (c’mon, you know you have!); Which Disney prince would each of the boys be?
My personal favourite is Matt Bomer’s Ken Doll as The Little Mermaid’s Prince Eric (a comparison that many others have drawn). That hair, the eyes, the mixture of wide-eyed innocence, yet smouldering potential, Glee’s Sue Sylvester (Jane Lynch) never spoke a truer word than when she told Bomer’s Cooper Anderson, “If Alan Menken isn’t personally writing you a fairytale musical at this very second, I will hunt him down and beat him senseless with a cudgel, because you, sir, are a Disney prince.”
Now slowly scroll down and enjoy. Remember to let us know in the comments whether you agree with these castings.
First up, Magic Mike himself (Channing Tatum) channelling Cinderella’s Prince Charming.
Next up we have The Princess and the Frog‘s Naveen as Malik (Stephen Boss) entertaining his Tiana.
The Kid’s (Alex Pettyfer) Kristoff would melt the Frozen heart of anyone, including Anna.
Pocahontas looks well pleased that her John Smith is none other than Dallas (Matthew McConaughey).
Ken Doll’s (Matt Bomer) Prince Eric shows Ariel how good he is both in and out of water.
Who else could play Beauty’s Beast than Kevin Nash’s Tarzan?
Tito’s (Adam Rodriguez) Aladdin will certainly show his Jasmine a whole new world
And finally, when you put them all together, you get this masterpiece. Now how many of you have this as your wallpaper now?
Magic Mike XXL is in cinemas now.
