Ohhh did you feel that? It was the collective sound of everyone (yes everyone!) as the latest teaser trailer for The X-Files went to air. Fox had to good sense to screen it during the latest episode of new kid on the block Wayward Pines. I’ll get straight to it if you haven’t seen it:
The incredibly tormenting 15-second start to what will be an momentous occasion, even if we do see the most famous poster in television history getting stomped on.
The new series brings back David Duchovny as Fox Mulder and Gillian Anderson as Dana Scully investigating all things spooky. We will also see Mitch Pileggi as Skinner and William B. Davis also reprises the iconic The Smoking Man.
The X-Files miniseries event will kick off its currently schedule 6-part series with a two-night premiere on the US Fox network on Sunday, January 24 2016. It will them sit into its regular time slot of 8pm Monday.

A few weeks ago we brought you the teaser trailer as Fox launched its 201 Days of The X-Files, on July 7, which showed a little flash of the alien-hunting duo. 201 Days of The X-Files is to celebrate the premiere of the upcoming The X-Files miniseries, which mean fans can watch every single episode in order (apart from the movies) and will finish on January 23, 2016, the day before the miniseries premieres.
Mulder, Scully and all the other dark and mysterious characters (and aliens) are returning to our screens for the first time in 14 years (we’re going to pretend that I Want To Believe didn’t happen) for The X-Files, a miniseries continuation of the Fox series that ran from 1993-2002.
So if you aren’t watching the current run of the series, I suggest you get out there and get started.
The X-Files screens on Fox January 24th 2016.
