In the ongoing saga of Jared Leto’s method acting on the set of Suicide Squad, there has been an update on Margot Robbie’s rat.
For those of you who haven’t heard, Jared Leto went very method into his Joker role. Some of his antics include sending the whole cast a dead hog and giving Will Smith a box of bullets.
Perhaps the one that has stuck most with readers is Jared Leto giving Margot Robbie (Harley Quinn) a love letter along with a rat.
The rat was alive for those of you asking. Now I know there’s a second question there.
Well what happened to the rat?
Robbie did not keep the rat.
In an interview with Collider for Terminator: Genisys, Jai Courtney (Captain Boomerang) talked about the now infamous rat incident, and who owns the little dickens now.
He said, “I did adopt the rat for a week, at one point. It’s bounce from house to house. Do you know where the house is right now? The owner of that rat—The Joker gave to Harley Quinn—is now living with Guillermo del Toro.”
Wait. So Guillermo del Toro is in possession of the rat that the Joker gave Harley Quinn?
Oh that is too perfect.
Gulliermo del Toro even commented about the newest member of the family. In another interview with Collider, he said: The rat is living with us in Toronto and he, and his massive ballsack, provide the house with great cheer and joy! We have re-named him Venustiano.”
They seem to have gotten the name from one of the leaders of the Mexican revolution: Venustiano Carranza. He also became president after his revolutionary faction won.
