About nine months ago Sara Lance was shot with three arrows and fell to her death – and shocked millions of viewers in front of their television screens. It was one of those character deaths you could not have predicted. It came suddenly and it hurt.
Fortunately, people on Arrow never stay dead for too long (Malcolm, Oliver, Thea, etc) and Sara will rejoin the world of fearless vigilantes soon enough. Earlier this year the creative team behind Arrow and The Flash announced that Caity Lotz would be returning for the newest spin-off Legends of Tomorrow – as the White Canary.
So while we were patiently waiting for further news on Legends to arrive we all had our own theories on how exactly Sara Lance will be brought back to life. The first teaser trailer for the spin-off answered that question for us: the Lazarus Pit, and it will have consequences.
While we always assumed Sara would be taking a bath in the “magic hot tub” on Legends of Tomorrow, Arrow executive producer Marc Guggenheim now set the record straight.
“The White Canary will be launched in the first few episodes of Arrow”, he told E!Online. “4×08, our typical crossover episode, will be doing a lot of heavy-lifting in terms of getting the Legends of Tomorrow characters set up and also seeing where they are with relation to The Flash. It’s a big episode.”
So not only will Sara actually be brought back to life on Arrow, but we will also get another crossover extravaganza early on in the season? Is it Christmas yet? Thinking back to last year’s crossover event, both episodes some of the highest rated episodes for each show respectively, it promises to be more than exciting. A big episode indeed.
As the crossover will also set up the events for Legends of Tomorrow, does that mean we will get another glimpse at Hawkgirl, who was already very present during The Flash’s season one finale? And will we also be introduced to Rip Hunter, or is that a character we will only meet on Legends?
So many questions, never enough answers.
Legends of Tomorrow is set to premiere mid-season on the CW.
