I’m Gonna Wreck It! John C Reilly Says Wreck-It Ralph 2 Is Definitely Happening

Wreck-It Ralph is definitely one of Disney’s better non-princess, non-Pixar related fare. It’s charming, fun, and a surprisingly emotional movie set in the realm of video games, both new and classic.

I mean who can’t help but love a really sweet guy who wants to find his own place in the world? It’s a touching story, really.

Now that I think about it, I’m surprised we don’t have more video-game based movies. I know there’s Warcraft and Assassin’s Creed coming out, but I don’t know, I just thought we would have more.

Let’s be real though, anyone who remembers the Super Mario Brothers movie is probably none too eager.

Sorry. Anyway, Wreck-It Ralph was a pretty huge success at the box office and has remained popular amongst fans since it was released in 2012.

There was even a release of a Fix-It Felix, Jr. game (of which Ralph is a part of) for the film. A friend of mine who played it said it was actually pretty fun to play in real life.

A sequel based on the film has been up in the air. Last year, composer Henry Jackson said in an interview with Collider that Wreck-It Ralph 2 was a thing that was happening in Disney.

Of course. We never got any information on it from Disney or the stars.

Yesterday, however, we got that confirmation.

John C. Reilly, who voices Ralph, made the announcement at the Galway Film Fleadh. The Irish Independent quickly broke the news on their entertainment Twitter.

Fingers crossed! Now that Reilly is on board for a sequel, we hope for news about the stellar cast, that included Jane Lynch, Sarah Silverman, and Jack McBrayer, coming back for more.

I would be totally pro that. I’m not a huge Sarah Silverman fan, but I did really like Vanellope Von Schweetz and her relationship with Ralph.

There’s no release date on Wreck-It Ralph 2.
