We have told you already that Hugh Jackman is making his last movie as Wolverine, but this solo¬† outing isn’t expected to hit theatres until 2017. But 0ver the past few days, the power of social media, (or is that the curse?) showed what can happen…¬† well it started with this post on Instagram from Brooklyn-based Kika NY, which was initially posted three weeks, but has only made the media rounds this week.

The pic, of the mock up of a backpack, got fans into a frenzy and rumours began circulating that Jackman’s Wolverine will be appearing in the follow-up to Bryan Singer’s X-Men: Days of Future Past. The post said they were making “a special backpack for Hugh Jackman who is filming the new X-MEN movie in Montreal.” However, the picture was later removed.

While Jackman has not officially revealed his involvement in the next X-Men film, he is currently listed in the cast on the IMDb website. Fans have been expecting a comeback following the events in Days of Future Past.

We do know that the actor’s final appearance as Wolverine will come in a currently untitled film from director James Mangold, which will be released in 2017.

As for the upcoming X-Men Apocalypse, we will see Evan Peters return as Quicksilver, with everyone keen for another scene to rival his incredible slowed-down vision in Days of Future Past. Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult and Michael Fassbender also return, while we meet newcomers Kodi Smit-McPhee (Nightcrawler), Ben Hardy (Angel), Tye Sheridan (Cyclops), Olivia Munn (Psylocke), Lana Condor (Jubilee) and Sophie Turner (Jean Grey). Oscar Isaac will be taking on the role of the villain Apocalypse.

X-Men: Apocalypse is scheduled for release on May 27, 2016.
