Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice is still months away, and kind of shrouded in mystery.
Sure, the first trailer of the film has been released and we’ve seen what Jesse Eisenberg’s Lex Luthor is going to look like. Ultimately though? We still haven’t seen or heard much in terms of what kind of conflict will pit Superman and Batman against each other. There have been theories, but nothing was definite. Though it does seem like Superman’s actions in Man Of Steel may have some repercussions.
Since DC will be taking over Hall H at this year’s SDCC instead of Marvel, I suspect we will learn more about the film in just a few short weeks. And it will be welcomed knowledge.
In order to whet appetites, however, the official synopsis has been released for the film.
The synopsis reads: “Fearing the actions of a god-like super hero left unchecked, Gotham City’s own formidable, forceful vigilante takes on Metropolis’s most revered, modern-day saviour, while the world wrestles with what sort of hero it really needs. And with Batman and Superman at war with one another, a new threat quickly arises, putting mankind in greater danger than it’s ever known before.”
It looks like it will be a superhero melee about warring ideologies about what it means to be a hero. (Maybe. I still don’t trust Snyder very much.) As a film concept, it does sound very cool to watch these two very different heroes confront each other.
I do wonder who the villain could be though? The most obvious answer is Lex Luthor as he is the villain touted the most in media I’ve seen, but it has to be someone with serious cred in order to stop the heroes from fighting.
Also where does Gal Gadot’s Wonder Woman fit into this? Her first film appearance will be here, and I want something suitably epic.
Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice will be released March 25, 2016.
