The casting announcements for James Gunn’s The Belko Experiment are not finished yet but they keep getting better and better.

Steve Agee (The Sarah Silverman Program) and Sean Gunn have joined the already awesome cast that includes Michael Rooker, Tony Goldwyn, Melonie Diaz, Adria Arjona, Owain Yeoman, John Gallagher Jr, and John C. McGinley.

Of course you remember Sean Gunn; not only is he James’ borther, but you have seen him in most of his movies and web projects (such as Super, Tromeo and Juliet, Humanzee!, James Gunn’s PG Porn and most recently as Kraglin in Guardians of the Galaxy). Oh, and he was Kirk in Gilmore Girls.

Sean will play Marty Espenscheid, a stoner cafeteria worker who has his own theories about who is behind Belko.

Steve Agee is no stranger to Gunn’s work either; they worked together in Super, in an “iconic role as ‘sleepy comic book guy who calls a child an a-hole’”. He will play Chet Valincourt, Marty’s best friend.

“In addition to being my brother, he’s also my favorite actor in the world to work with so I’m excited to welcome him aboard Belko as Marty Espenscheid, a stoner cafeteria worker who has his own ideas about who is behind Belko. In the film Marty’s best friend is Chet Valincourt, played by one of my best friends, Steve Agee. Steve of course had an iconic role in Super as “sleepy comic book guy who calls a child an asshole”, Gunn wrote on his Facebook page.

The latest casting announcement includes Gail Bean, Valentine Miele (who has previously worked with Gunn in Tromeo and Juliet, Super and Humanzee!) and David Dastmalchian. Excuse me while I have a small fangirl breakdown over Dastmalchian and Gunn woking together.

David Dastmalchian is one of the few people who can state they worked for both DC and Marvel; he was one of the Joker’s henchmen, Thomas Schiff (that one man dressed as an Honour Guard whom the Joker took from Arkham Asylum), in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight, and we will see him soon in Peyton Reed’s Ant-Man. In addition to that, he appeared alongside Hugh Jackman and Jake Gyllenhaal in Prisoners and wrote the critically acclaimed movie Animals.

Dastmalchian will play Alonso “Lonny” Crane, who works for Rooker’s character in maintenance. Gail Bean will play Leota Hynek, who takes Melonie Diaz’ character (“the new girl”) under her wing and Valentine Miele will be Ross Reynolds, a sales rep for Belko who isn’t taking this whole “kill or be killed” situation in the best way (we don’t blame him, though).

And that, my friends, is the latest on The Belko Experiment, which looks more and more awesome with each casting reveal.

There will be more announcements this week as they are close to start shooting in Colombia. Stay tuned!
