King of science fiction, Ridley Scott, is back with a new adventure of epic proportions.

His new movie is The Martian, a sci-fi drama based on the novel of the same name. It’s the story of astronaut Mark Watney (Matt Damon) who is presumed dead after a fierce storm during a mission to Mars and is left behind by his crew. Now stranded on the Red Planet, Watney must find a way to survive and signal to Earth that he is alive. The problem is not only that he is in Mars with very limited resources, but also that even if he gets to communicate his survival, his rescue might not happen.

Also starring are Jessica Chastain, Michael Peña, Kate Mara, Kristen Wiig, Jeff Daniels, Sean Bean (the bet stands on whether he will die or not), Chiwetel Ejiofor and our beloved Sebastian Stan.

Space, Ridley Scott, and Sebastian Stan. I am very pleased with everything surrounding this movie.

A few days ago we got the first look at Matt Damon in full astronaut mode thanks to Empire, but today we got the first official trailer, and yes: it is as incredible as it sounds.

You know everything will be ok when a trailer has you at the edge of your seat, waiting for more. By “ok” I mean “mind-blowing and most likely hearbreaking”. You’ve been warned.

However, the trailer is not the only Martian-related goodie we have gotten in the last 24 hours.

A viral video was released yesterday in which we see Matt Damon as Mark Watney introducing the Ares 3 crew before their mission commences. As someone who loves everything space, this video made me the happiest girl on the planet; what’s not to love about the inside of a spaceship?! More so if one of the crew-members is Sebastian Stan.

Seriously though, both the trailer and the viral video are a delight for sci-fi lovers, space enthusiasts and overall movie lovers.

The Martian will be out on November 25. Watch the Ares 3: Farewell video right here!
