It was “just another day at the office” for X-Men: Apocalypse director Bryan Singer as he offered up his latest in a long line of teasers from the upcoming movie.
The green-screened and suspended characters reveal what looks to be another slow motion scene for Quicksilver! Though the snapshot is only partially-realized in front of a green screen, it already reminds many people of the X-Men: Days of Future Past’s famous scene where speedster Quicksilver disarmed a room of guards in slow motion.
I have to say his scene in Days of Future Past, to the beautiful haunting tune of “Time in a Bottle” by Jim Croce is still one of my favourite pieces of cinema from 2014. Quicksilver’s Pentagon prison break scene was a stunning example of the mutant hero’s powers. It showed him moving around the room faster than people can comprehend, all set to Croce’s 1973 hit.
And with Quicksilver confirmed to return with X-Men: Apocalypse, it would be a travesty not to incorporate another incredible suspenseful and slightly humorous scene from his point of view.
We have had some previous teasing images from Singer… again with the chairs! Last week he shared this image through Instagram
X-Men: Apocalypse, which is the sequel to X-Men: Days of Future Past has huge excitement and expectation surrounding it. Not only do we get to see our favourite mutants back with Professor X, BOTH Magnetos, Mystique, Beast and Quicksilver, we also get to meet the younger versions of Storm, Cyclops and Jean Grey. And lets not forget we get to meet the very first mutant…. Apocalypse.
X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016.
