4YE's The Daily Four: The June 1st Edition

Welcome to the first day of June 2015 and welcome to 4YE‘s The Daily Four! We’re bringing you four stories we thought were most interesting and popular to help kick off this brand new month the right way!

Celebratory

Britain’s Got Talent Final – We Have A WINNER: Finally, we have a winner! Or, winners… The highly anticipated final of Britain’s Got Talent took place, and it was intense! It was hard to make predictions of who would be taking home the £250k prize and a spot to perform at the Royal Variety Show, but the public decided who they wanted to take home the money and the opportunity. In third place, we had Cor Glanaethwy, a Welsh choir. Jamie Raven, an impressive illusionist and magician came second. Walking away with the crown was human and dog act Jules O’Dwyer and her pooch, Matisse. The act performed a variety of roleplay/storytelling tricks that impressed the judges, and the public enough that they earned their title as Britain’s Got Talent 2015 winners! Congratulations!

Inspiring

Stevie Nicks Gives Us A Daily Dose Of Badass Girl Power: Stevie Nicks, member of iconic band Fleetwood Mac, recently revealed her beliefs when it comes to the make-up of today’s bands. Chatting with Mojo magazine, the star said, “I think every band should have a girl in it, because it’s always going to make for cooler stuff going on than if it’s just a bunch of guys.” She also suggested having opposite sexes in a band “casts a romantic spell” even if there is no romantic relationship present. Speaking of girl power, Nicks was snapped in a selfie with Adele, you might have heard of her. As a huge fan of Fleetwood Mac, Adele attended their recent London gig in the O2 and got a chance to meet Stevie backstage!

Will Young Takes No. 1 Album Spot With New Album: British singer/songwriter Will Young has earned the No. 1 Album spot this week with his latest album, 85% Proof. He’s no stranger to this achievement as it is his fourth No. 1 album in the UK! His 2002 record From Now On, 2003 record Friday’s Child and 2011 record Echoes all shot to the top spot after their release. At this present time, Sam Smith’s debut In The Lonely Hour is still in the Top 5 at No. 5. Wilder Mind by Mumford & Sons takes fourth position and after the recent success of new single “Bad Blood”, Taylor Swift’s 1989 has climbed back to the No. 3 spot. Just beaten to the top spot by Young’s album was English Graffiti by The Vaccines.

Ariana Grande Confirms Title Of Upcoming Album: It feels like she has just dropped 2013’s My Everything but Ariana Grande is set to release a new album in the near future, and we now have a name for it! Really, we should have seen this coming (and many fans did) as she has been dropping MAJOR hints for quite some time. From getting moon-inspired tattooes to blatantly saying the album title in several posts on her social media, it should be no surprise that the singer’s third studio LP will be called Moonlight. Grande confirmed the news to a fan through Direct Messages on Twitter (because that’s how tight she is with her fans, cool huh?). Along with this news, it has also been confirmed that the album’s promotional tour will be called Moonlight and a song on the album will share the name of the album.
