Total Loss Of Control: Dinosaurs Run Amok In New Jurassic World Teaser

A new trailer for Jurassic World has declared things totally out of control as dinosaurs, led by Indominous Rex, run amok over the park.

The trailer focuses on the chaos caused by both Indominous Rex and Bryce Dallas Howard’s character by creating the creature. There’s also a close-up shot on the dead brontosauruses (or apparently, apatosauruses? I don’t know I grew up with brontosaurus).

Is it weird all I can think of during that shot is Littlefoot’s mother in The Land Before Time? Probably.

Also poor Katie McGrath – all I see of her in these previews is her getting carried away to be (possibly) eaten. Which is honestly par the course in these films.

They have definitely lost control indeed.

And all I can think of is: “No really? You’re surprised that when you’re unholy abomination of genetic manipulation reigns down chaos onto the park?”

But hey Chris Pratt said it was a bad idea, so kudos for someone pointing it out.

I have a confession to make. When I was a kid, an ill-fated late night viewing of Jurassic Park scared the hell right out of me. I had nightmares for weeks because it freaked me out. Because who would want to bring dinosaurs back to life for entertainment purposes?

I’m twenty-three now, and I have spent a lot of time thinking about this question.

I still don’t have an answer for it outside of “Dinosaurs are frickin’ rad.”

As the Jurassic Park series teaches us that is not a reason to sin against nature by bringing dinosaurs back to life. So don’t bring dinosaurs back to life children, at least not for the purposes of running a theme park.

They will inevitably break out and kill all humans.

While that may be endearing for Bender the Robot in Futurama, it’s not so endearing with dinosaurs. Especially ones smart enough to hunt for sport.

Jurassic World premieres on June 10th.
