A Marvel or Star Wars channel is something that never crossed my mind and therefore didn’t know I want. With the success that both brands are currently enjoying, it shouldn’t come as a surprise that Disney could be considering making a TV space especially for them.

During an investors conference call, Disney CEO Bob Iger said the following, which suggests Disney could expand their already successful TV division (which includes ABC, ESPN, and others) with channels dedicated to Marvel and Star Wars.

“We have said that with these channels and these brands — ESPN, ABC, Disney, maybe even down the road something related to Star Wars and Marvel — we do have an ability as a company to take product, specifically filmed entertainment, television, movies, directly to consumers”, Iger said.

He didn’t elaborate on this, so the only thing we can do for now is read between the lines and hope for the best!

Wouldn’t it be awesome?! Think about it; the current plans of the MCU end in 2019 with Inhumans. Let’s pretend there are no more phases for the Marvel Cinematic Universe and it all ends there. A Marvel channel would be the best remedy for our broken hearts and damaged souls (because believe me, we will have some deep emotional damage after Infinity War Part 2).

As for Star Wars, we don’t really need reasons for a channel: just do it! The Star Wars fandom seems to grow with each passing day, imagine how many people Disney would make happy with a Star Wars channel. Just do it, guys!

Remember it’s all speculation for now, but I’m hoping we will hear something from Disney soon. We will keep you posted!

In the meantime, let’s imagine how awesome would it be to have channels with super Marvel marathons and Star Wars movies on the weekends.
