It wouldn’t be a James Bond film without a car chase or six! Luckily, the 24th Bond film, Spectre is set to be no exception with the release of a sneak peek at the road duel.
In the clip, an orange Jaguar C-X75, driven by the evil henchman Mr. Jinx (Dave Bautista), chases Bond’s silver Aston Martin DB10 through the night time streets of one of the world’s greatest cities.
Directed by Sam Mendes, we get a behind-the-scenes look at not only the chase, shot on the streets of Rome, but learn a little about the cars being used in the film.
In the clip, Mendes says, “I love the idea of this fantastic car being in a one-on-one battle with another incredible car from Jaguar, which is similarly extraordinary actually.” He went on to say, “It’s a cat and mouse game through the night time streets of Rome at great speed with two of the fastest cars in the world, neither of which you’ve ever seen before.”
The Aston Martin has been specifically designed and built for the movie. In fact, the car was actually developed with the input of the film’s director and producers. Yes folks, the DB10 is for James Bond only!“It’s never been done like this before,” Aston Martin chief creative officer Marek Reichman said. “For a movie character to have a major manufacturer create a car just for him is really quite special.”
