The reboot of the Fantastic Four is coming in a just a few short months. I’m a literally freaking out over it.

The new trailers, showcasing the team, shows a darker and grittier take then the one that starred Chris Evans and Jessica Alba. I, for one, am a huge fan of this new and fascinating look at the team’s beginnings. Like the fact they seem to get their powers from an alternate dimension, rather then “cosmic rays”. Or that Doom doesn’t seem to be the leader of a small fictional European nation, but a colleague.

All of which are changes that make sense.

Plus it has Michael B. Jordan. I am pro-anything with Michael B. Jordan in it. Literally. Give me all the Michael B. Jordan.

Well, 20th Century Fox and Marvel seem to have heard my prayers. Today, they released a bunch of new posters for the upcoming film. The posters also give us a close look at all the costumes for the team.

I’m super excited. Let’s take a look.

They all look so good guys! And all of the characters make sense!

Like Mr. Fantastic (Miles Teller) has some kind of springs or material around his uniform so he can stretch out. Sue Storm (Kate Mara) has some kind of light reflective bits in her uniform so they will go invisible when she does. I’m betting Johnny Storm (Michael B. Jordan) has some kind of flame retardant material in his uniform so that it doesn’t burn off his body.

Ben Grimm’s (Jamie Bell) CGI is still blowing my mind. I mean I can see every crack in every bit of rock. The texturing alone is absolutely stunning. If that alone doesn’t get Fantastic Four nominated for some sort of special effects Oscar, then I don’t know what will.

I love the level of thought that went in here. It’s like the costuming department sat down and was like, “We got four superheroes with clothing needs and we have to use our level of technology, if not a bit higher, to accommodate them.” They are distinctive and yet part of a team.

Perfect. Bravo. High fives. Thumbs up. They look awesome.

Fantastic Four will be released August 7th in the US.
