Things certainly move fast in Hollywood. News has only recently filtered down that former True Blood star Joe Mangianello has left the cast of Ryan Murphy’s new anthology series, Scream Queens. Already we’ve got word of who will be stepping into the role.
It was announced earlier that Mangianello had dropped out of the production due to “scheduling conflicts.” While the departure comes at almost the eleventh hour with filming set to commence over the next couple of days, the production has luckily found someone able to take on the series regular role.
And that someone is Nashville’s Oliver Hudson E! News has confirmed. As when Mangianello was cast, no details about the role have been released, just that it is the lead male role in the comedy-horror.
Now all you Nashville fans don’t stress just yet that the record label exec you all love to hate has packed up his toys, leaving Juliette with a mess to clean up and gotten the hell out of dodge. He’s still got some Nashville life in him left. E! News reports that his filming on Scream Queens will take place after Nashville wraps so there should be no scheduling conflicts between the two projects. This just means there’s more Hudson on our screens to enjoy.
Hudson will be heading to New Orleans shortly to join the ensemble cast that includes Glee’s Lea Michele, Emma Roberts, Jamie Lee Curtis, Abigail Breslin, Billie Lourd, Ariana Grande and Nick Jonas, among others.
The first season of the series is to be centered around a college campus that has been rocked by a series of murders. Will Hudson be one of the sexy professors or is there a more sinister part for him to play?
Scream Queens is due to air on FOX this fall.
