With production on Glee having wrapped just over a week ago, the cast and crew are moving on and lining up gigs for their lives after Glee. From movies to headlining new TV series to Broadway, though they may disappear from our screens in a little over three weeks, it’s safe to say that it won’t be the last we see from this talented bunch.

The latest cast member to announce their next project is the woman behind McKinley High’s beloved, yet feared cheerleading coach turned principal, Sue Sylvester, Jane Lynch.

Lynch is following up her Emmy-winning role with a lead in a new CBS comedy pilot, Angel From Hell. While the format of the half-hour comedy is still to be determined, the series will focus on an unlikely duo, larger-than-life, brassy and flamboyant Amy (Lynch) and Allison.

Amy enters Allison’s life claiming to be her guardian angel. They then form an unlikely friendship. However, Allison is unsure whether Amy really is an angel or if she’s just a nut job.

Sounds like the perfect role for Lynch, whose actions as Coach Sylvester has often left us questioning her sanity. Lynch is a brilliant comedienne and it is about time that she had a headlining project where she is able to play to this strength.

Lynch recently opened up about the Glee finale and what we can expect to see, without giving away too many secrets. Describing it as “a great ending,” we learnt that as well as jumping back in time to 2009 (when the glee club as we know it first came into existence), we’ll also be flash forwarding and seeing what becomes of our favourite characters long after that final curtain falls on the McKinley auditorium.

Lynch will also be returning to her other Emmy Award-winning show, Hollywood Game Night. The show that pits celebrity teams lead by a Game Night contestant against each other in a series of hilarious party games will return for a third season with Lynch as later this year.

Angel From Hell will be written-executive produced by Tad Quill (Bent, Scrubs). There has been no word on who will star as Allison or when production will commence.
