Disney’s live-action Beauty and the Beast is shaping up to be an amazing film already. Emma Watson will make a stunning Belle (you can just see it, can’t you?), and it was announced yesterday that Downton’s Dan Stevens will star opposite as the Beast. Luke Evans joins the cast as Gaston, and there are strong rumours that Emma Thompson will take on the role of Mrs Potts.

With all this amazing casting already, who else could be in the line up? Well here at 4YE we thought we’d give you our dream casting for the following roles:

Lefou (Gaston’s sidekick)- Josh Gad

Known for the voice of Olaf in Frozen, Gad is an amazingly talented performer and would be the perfect sidekick to Evans’ smooth and slick Gaston. Plus, we all know he can do comedy.

Maurice (Belle’s Dad)- Dustin Hoffman

A wonderful actor, Hoffman does crazy so well! Who remembers Mr Magorium’s Wonder Emporium?┬áHe’s also great at playing the kind, meek gentleman, as Esio Trot proved. I would love to see him take on this role.

Lumiere- Alan Cumming

You can just see it, can’t you? Cumming is an outstanding musical performer, a true master of gesture, expression and song. He attacks all his roles with gusto and would be the perfect flirty French candlestick.

Cogsworth- Ron Cook

You might not have heard of Ron Cook, but he does a very fine job of playing Mr Crabb on ITV/PBS’ Mr Selfridge. He is the perfect physical fit for Cogsworth; short and rotund (in the sweetest possible way), plus he is delightfully English. As Mr Crabb, he already has the panicked and despairing right hand man act nailed.

Who would you like to see in these roles? Do let us know! The possibilities are endless, of course, and no doubt Disney are already in talks or holding auditions for many, but it’s always fun to speculate!
