The other day we reported on how Tom Hiddleston was heading to wrap up his Marvel character of Loki in the schemata of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. In an interview with IGN, Samuel L Jackson, the actor who portrays S.H.I.E.L.D Director Nick Fury, has revealed that he is reaching the end of his contract.
Jackson said “I’ve only got two more movies in my contract,” he went on to say “That might be the end of it unless I get an extension. I don’t know.”
He admitted that he does not want his contract to end. when IGN said “we’re still waiting for the Nick Fury movie,” Jackson said “yes I am!!”
Jackson made his debut as SHIELD supers-py Fury in 2008’s Iron Man, a film that really cemented Marvel as a big gun in the cinematic realm. It is now known that, to begin with, Marvel struggled to convince the actor to sign to a long-contract. They must have done a great deal in the end as they eventually signed Jackson for no less than nine pictures, and he has been pivotal to the Marvel Cinematic Universe we have come to know and love. I mean how can you not love the man who was instrumental in forming The Avengers!
Jackson’s Fury will be seen in the upcoming Avengers: Age of Ultron, and the last two films will more than likely be Captain America: Civil War and Avengers: Infinity War. Unless Marvel has a card up its sleeve and signs him on for more appearances.
Jackson can currently be seen starring alongside Colin Firth in Matthew Vaughn’s Kingsman: The Secret Service as he takes on the role of the villain Valentine.
