If you don’t know by now that we are massive fans of Sebastian Stan, then you might want to have a look through the 4YE archives. We are massive fans of him and for me it started when I first saw him as Jefferson in Once Upon a Time but for many people it was his portrayal of Bucky in the Captain America films.
You would be right to think that the role of the Winter Soldier changed Stan’s life, as he revealed in a interview with Variety at The Sundance Film Festival, “The awareness of me in terms of the industry has been very different. It’s granted me more opportunity to be able to search for the projects I want to be involved in, and work with the kind of filmmakers I’m really interested in working with. “ Stan is currently his latest project at Sundance, The Bronze, were he stars alongside The Big Bang Theory’s Melissa Rauch. Stan praised director Bryan Buckley during the interview and revealed that Buckley is one of those directors he is grateful to be able to work with, directs the film. He said, “Bryan Buckley, to me, I feel like he’s going to be someone you’re going to know for a long time. I was like, ‘Wow, I got the chance to work with this guy before everyone is going to want to work with him.”
Stan also gave an insight into the plotline for The Bronze, “It’s all about the world of gymnastics. It’s a world we know very little about, and it’s a dark comedy about what happens to some of these triathletes that we see in competition who train since they are very young and their life just becomes about winning. Hope, after winning a bronze medal, lives in this bitter world, stuck in reflecting about the past and reliving her memories in a small town. I play Lance Tucker, who is the spitting image of her, an ex-gold medallist-turned-advisor-turned-mentor.”
Although he has gained a lot of recognition for his role in Captain America it seems that Stan knows about as much as we do when it comes to Captain America: Civil War as when he was asked about seeing a script for the film, his answer was this, “No. I mean this – I have no idea what’s happening.”
The people behind the Marvel universe are very secretive about what’s coming next in our favourite superhero world. But one thing is for sure, 2014 was a great year for Sebastian Stan and it seems like 2015 will be just as good!!
