Winter is coming for IMAX theaters everywhere, and it will be glorious.
It was previously announced that the hit drama, Game of Thrones, is heading towards the Big Screen for its season 5 reveal. Fans of the grisly drama won’t have to wait for much longer as it was also announced that the show is premiering on April 12 so if one needs to get a quick rewatch in, there is still plenty of time to do that.
Today’s major news might kick the excitement into overdrive as a teaser trailer for the IMAX experience has been released. A shot of a bearded Tyrion Lannister being unceremoniously dumped out of the crate Varys hid him in the Season 4 finale is shown in the teaser video, definitely put in there to elicit cheers from the fans of the Little Lion Lannister.
Also, thanks to the tiny teaser, it has been confirmed that the Game of Thrones IMAX experience will be even more epic than anticipated as IMAX will show the final two episodes of Season 4, “The Watchers on the Wall” and “The Children.” For those in the know, those two episodes were quite the game changers for the hit drama. This avid viewer is still reeling.
The fourth season of the fantasy drama television series premiered in the United States on HBO on April 6, 2014, and concluded on June 15, 2014, consisting of 10 episodes, leaving viewers wanting more.
Season 4 had the strongest viewer numbers of all seasons aired up until that point, with a series high of 7.20 million viewers of the first airing of the seventh episode. With its fourth season, Game of Thrones has become the most-watched HBO series in history, deservedly so, with its plot twists and shocks. Game of Thrones, interestingly enough, has been the most pirated series in the past two years as well.
April 12, 2015 cannot come soon enough!
