Usually we see Stanley Tucci as a quirky side character, like Caesar Flickerman in The Hunger Games, but it looks as if he’s planning on confirming his status as a villain. We saw him give a chilling performance in The Lovely Bones (which garnered him an Oscar nod to boot!) and now he’s doing it again.

Tucci has signed on to play the villain in Patient Zero, which co-stars Game of Thrones and Terminator: Genisys beauty Natalie Dormer and former Doctor Who star Matt Smith!

The official synopsis of the film is as follows:

“In Patient Zero, an unprecedented global pandemic of a super strain of rabies has resulted in the evolution of a new species driven by violence. An inexplicably immune human survivor with the ability to communicate with this new species must spearhead a hunt for Patient Zero in order to find a cure to save his infected wife and humanity.”

Regarding Tucci’s character, as Deadline puts it, “Tucci plays a deliciously evil role: a professor who becomes infected, and highly violent. He becomes determined to crash the lab that’s working on a cure and thwart the search for Patient Zero.”

Sounds pretty cool, right? The film is to be directed by Stefan Ruzowitzky, and produced by Vincent Newman, of We’re The Millers.
