Gleeks, can you believe it is just two days until the return of Glee for its final season? I’m guessing your emotions are as mixed as mine right now; part excitement, part dread with an added touch of pain and anguish at the thought of Klaine being parted.
Well, fingers crossed that it’s not for too long. I might love Glee as a whole, but boy do I need my Klaine to be happy, healthy and strong. It’s down to my other favourite character to make this right.
According to the extended summary for episode 6×04, entitled “The Hurt Locker”, Sue Sylvester has but one wish; to be a flower girl at a fabulous gay wedding. She decides this must be Kurt and Blaine’s nuptials and sets about trying to get them to reconcile.
Here is the extended summary in full: “When several show choirs plan to gather at McKinley for a technically meaningless “invitational” competition, Rachel worries that Will’s Vocal Adrenaline team will be so stellar they will blow her still-struggling New Directions team out of the water. In a bid to prevent a spirit-crushing defeat, she implores Will to take it easy on them and asks him to purposefully underperform at the event. He agrees, but when Sue gets wind of the collusion she takes matters into her own hands. With Will’s departure from McKinley, he and Sue would apparently have no further grudges to bear against each other, but she still takes offence at even the most innocent of actions and – with a planned retirement on her horizon – decides to embark on a grand act of revenge. She takes her first step of reckoning by setting her sights on destroying Will’s protégé, Rachel; she hypnotizes Sam to make him believe he is in love with Rachel, hoping his amorous advances will distract her from the Glee Club. Meanwhile, Sue takes steps to fulfill her (heretofore unrevealed) desire to be a flower girl at a “fabulous” gay wedding and sets out to rekindle Kurt and Blaine’s fractured relationship.”
Okay, so I mainly focused on the last sentence of that summary but let’s take a look at the rest. Sue Sylvester retiring? Surely not! I would have thought she would still be holding court at McKinley even as the bulldozers moved in. One of the best things about this entire show has been the continuing war between Sue and Will, and I am really happy to see this continuing. They’re always a great source of comedy.
As for Sue hypnotising Sam…well, I might possibly be the only person on this earth who actually wants to see Sam with Rachel and not Mercedes so I am entirely happy with that storyline even though it does sound slightly silly and I know there will be many Samcedes shippers up in arms.
Getting back to Klaine though….this presumably is the beginning of their road to reconciliation which I need more than I actually need air, so here is a massive THANK YOU to Sue Sylvester for her intervention!
