Chris Hemsworth has announced during a recent interview that the next instalment of the franchise for his Thor movies, Thor: Ragnorok, will be “pretty big”. The biggest question we all have is just HOW will it slot into the Marvel Cinematic Universe?
The Digital Spy team also asked Hemsworth if events in Avengers: Age of Ultron will impact on where we find Thor in Thor 3 he replied with “yeah, definitely , well it has to doesn’t it, unless I was standing on the sidelines kind of waving.”
The Rush star said that screenwriters Craig Kyle and Christopher Yost are yet to deliver a script for the sequel, but we do know that it is under way. Yost himself has tweeted as much in June last year with his story board looking like this….

We also know that Tom Hiddleston and Idris Elba will make an appearance in the movie. Earlier this month we hypothesised that perhaps, with her powers, Scarlet Witch may give Thor a glimpse at the events that will come and mess with Asgard as we know it.
Ragnarök itself, which is a key story in Norse mythology, is a series of future events, which includes a great battle foretold to ultimately result in the death of a number of major Norse Gods including Odin, Thor Heimdall and Loki. It tells of various natural disasters happening, and that the world will become submerged in water. Afterwards, the world will resurface ‘anew and fertile’, the surviving and returning gods will meet, and the world will be repopulated by two human survivors. It can be literally translated as “Fate of the Gods” or “Twilight of the Gods”.As with all Marvel movies, speculation is rife about filming dates. Personally some days I love the internet and its ability to create chaos where the is none. Recently a Hiddleston movie account re-tweeted a photo from Make Up Artist Sophia Knight that was a #tbt (Throw Back Thursday for those who don’t know, where you post a photo from your past) The account claimed it was Thor 3 filming commencing while other sites went on to speculate that it was the Avengers:Age of Ultron sequences he was filming. In fact the photo is from 2013 and is from Thor: The Dark World. go Internet.

Thor: Ragnarok is set to be released on July 28, 2017. And fans are eagerly awaiting the release of Avengers: Age of Ultron, which will open in cinemas this April.
Hemsworth can next be seen leading the cast of Michael Mann’s hacking thriller Blackhat. The film opened in the US earlier this month and debuts on February 20 in the UK and 26th February in Australia. It tells the story the hunt to track down a high-level cybercrime network from Chicago to Los Angeles to Hong Kong to Jakarta. Viola Davis stars alongside Hemsworth.
