We’ve all been waiting for it, and here it is! Lea Michele’s version of ‘Let it Go’ has been released ahead of the Glee season 6 premiere on January 9th. Let’s all sit and listen before we go any further, and then we can discuss.

So what did you all think? I’ll admit it, I’m torn. For me personally, nothing will top Idina Menzel’s version because it’s the original and the best, but I do think Lea has the edge on Demi Lovato’s single version, even though I love Demi immensely. ‘Let it Go’ really suits Lea Michele’s voice, in fact she is so similar to Idina in so many ways that having Menzel play her mother on the show is possibly the best and most sensible casting Glee has ever made.

Lea will be singing ‘Let it Go’ as part of Glee’s first episode of its final season; a message to fans, maybe? I’m not really sure quite how it will work into the plot in any way, but then again, since when has Glee needed any song to relate to the plot? Personally, I think it will come at the end of the first episode and after Rachel has reformed the Glee Club. I could be entirely wrong, of course, but that is the only place I could see where it would fit. I guess that it would be Rachel’s way of leaving her shattered dream of stardom behind.

The Glee promo team seem to be going all out with less than three weeks to go until it returns to our screens. Whether it will be too little, too late, or whether old fans will tune in for the final season to see how it all ends remains to be seen. One thing’s for sure though, come March 20, we really will have to let it go.
