It seems Stephen Colbert has outdone himself this time; the fake Republican has scored the Mother of All Guests.

President Barack Obama, ruler of the Free World, is going to be on The Colbert Report. Yes, that’s right, Colbert will finally have a guest almost as smart as he is.

President Obama will be appearing tomorrow, December 8, on a show being broadcast from George Washington University in Washington, DC. The show has a special, catchy title: “Stephen Colbert Presents: Mr Colbert Goes to Washington DC Ya Later, Legislator: Partisan is Such Sweet Sorry: A Colbert Victory Lap, ‘014”.

The President is no stranger to Colbert; this will be his third visit to the show, although he has appeared on Jon Stewart’s The Daily Show four times. Sadly, The Colber’ Repor’ will not best Stewart’s record, as the award-winning show ends on December 18.

In 2015 – the exact date has yet to be announced – Colbert will take over from David Letterman as host of CBS’ The Late Show. Perhaps he can get the President to follow him across networks? One can only hope.

Colbert announced his very, very special guest last Thursday, saying he had tried to book the band The Presidents Of The United States Of America, but had accidentally booked the actual President instead.

However, Colbert was “honoured to be sitting down with the man who sat down with Bill O’Reilly”. He is also very excited to be visiting Our Nation’s Capital, bless him; especially “the big toothpick,” the “mega Lincoln,” and the “big pool with a handsome man staring up out of it.”

In case you’re worried that you’re going to miss Colbert’s Comedy Central persona, have no fear. As well as endless replays on YouTube, the paperback version of America Again: Re-becoming the Greatness We Never Weren’t was released in October, as Colbert reminded us.

“Stephen Colbert, the guy you’ve seen here every night for nine years will be gone. All you’ll have left of me is this book,” Colbert said.

Buy the book, and read it over and over again. Get all the Colbert you can, I beg of you.

The special edition of The Colbert Report with President Obama will air at 11.30pm ET on Monday December 8 on Comedy Central, live from George Washington University.
