Glee will begin its final season in a little over a month.

Shocking right? Yet it is true; the sixth season will start in January.

Actually, according to TVLine, the musical dramedy will begin its curtain call season on Friday, January 9th with a two hour premiere. The show will run until March 20th, where it will end for the final time also with a two hour episode.

After the premiere episode, Glee will settle into a Friday at 9pm EST timeslot.

Considering how poorly the season five ratings were for the show, it doesn’t surprise me that they moved it to the Friday night slot.

Still, it seems like most fans have agreed that the show’s end has come. Partly to do with it not having the same energy since the death of Cory Monteith, whose character of Finn Hudson was a cornerstone to the show.

Personally, I feel like the show had truly ended with the episode “New Directions” where it gave such a wonderful send-off and final bow.

I will be checking in, however, because Glee has shaped my life in more ways then I can count. And I know of many people who will be doing the same for similar reasons.

Glee‘s final season begins on January 9th at 8pm EST.
