The countdown begins!
As previously reported, British actor and comedian James Corden has been announced as the new host of The Late Late Show, and CBS have now revealed an official date for his premiere.
The Late Late Show With James Corden will hit TV screens on Monday 9th March at 12:37/11:37c!
Host of the past ten years of the popular show, Craig Ferguson will step down in December, making way for Corden to take the reigns March 2015.
Close friend of Corden’s Ben Winston, who is best known for his work on the Corden-hosted Brit Awards, Corden-starring Red Nose Day clips, as well as the X Factor and work with One Direction, will also be joining the Late Late family as executive producer.
Of the news, Nina Tassler, Chairman at CBS Entertainment, told TVLine, “We’re excited to begin CBS’s next chapter after midnight and introduce James’ wide range of performance talents and fearless creative instincts to American television viewers,” adding, “He and Ben have been friends for a long time and partnered together on a variety of successful projects. They are a creatively dynamic and very energetic host/producer combination.”
Best known for award-winning roles in The Wrong Mans and Gavin and Stacey, as well as a guest spot in Doctor Who, the end of the year will see Corden hit the big screen in musical phenomenon Into The Woods before his Late Late antics premiere. If one thing’s for sure, its going to be a big new year for the Brit!
