Although Chris Evans looked really good on his Fantastic Four outfit back in 2005 and 2007, you must admit the outfit was a bit… well, let’s say it wasn’t a costume you would choose for any party.
Luckily, Michael B. Jordan, who will play Johnny Storm aka The Human Torch on the Fantastic Four reboot, revealed being in costume feels good and even promised his suit will not be “cheesy”.
“I think it wasn’t on set, but it was during the fittings when I put on the full outfit and looked at myself in the mirror, and I was like, ‘Oh shit. Game on!’ It was like, this is it! This is what it looks like. This is what it feels like. It felt good”, he said in an interview with The Daily Beast.
What about the spandex? Is it as uncomfortable as it looks? Wonderwall made this question in a separate interview with Jordan.
“How did I feel about wearing spandex? The costume part wasn’t that bad. I think we did a really good job at making it modern, new, fresh without going to the cheesy superhero outfits. We didn’t take the easy way out at all. So I didn’t mind it so much”, he said.
Fantastic Four was the first superhero team created by Stan Lee and Jack Kirby and the first team title produced by Marvel Comics. The first film adaptation was made in 1994 but it wasn’t released in theatres or home video. It was until 2005 that we got to see the team on the big screen for the first time with the film directed by Tim Story and starring Ioan Gruffudd, Jessica Alba, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis. The sequel, Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer came out in 2007 and we wish we could forget it.
The reboot will be directed by Josh Trank and joining Michael B. Jordan will be Miles Teller as Reed Richards (Mr. Fantastic), Kate Mara as Sue Storm (Invisible Woman), Jamie Bell as Ben Grimm (The Thing) and Toby Kebbell as Doctor Doom. The storyline is said to be based on the Ultimate Fantastic Four, so I really hope it will be much better than the previous ones.
To be honest, I’m pretty curious to see Jamie Bell as The Thing!
Fantastic Four will be released on August 7 2015.
