We here at 4YE had so much fun with Caitlin Da Silva that we have a little something extra for those of you who want to get to know the YouTuber and her book habits a little bit better.

The 17-year-old YouTube personality, and owner of the book channel YA BookwormBlogger and the living channel Just Around The Corner, answered some short but difficult questions for us about books, videos, and adaptations. Caitlin had to deal with quite a few Sophie choices, but we think she may have learned a bit about herself through these hard-hitting questions. We know we definitely learned quite a bit.

We will forgive her for dog-earing pages.

Rapid Fire Questions:

Bookmark or dog-ear: I used to be a bookmark person but I do dog ear. I just started doing it for when I find quotes I want to use in my reviews. I’d rather that that a highlighter. I can’t believe I’m a dog ear person now.

Order or in-store: In store

E-book or print: Definitely print

Library or own: Oh…owned

New or used: Um…I prefer new, so my feels are the only feels attached to the book

Book-to-film or book-to-television: Ooooh, book to television

Vlog or set up videos: Set up videos, but I want to try that vlogging thing

Book review or haul: …Damn. Haul.

A book that should be a film: Obsidian by Jennifer L. Armentrout

A book that should be a show: [I think] Vampire Academy would have benefitted as a show, or Blue Bloods.

A movie that should not have become a film: Confessions of a Shopaholic. “I didn’t like it as much as I liked the book.

A movie that should not have become a TV show: Can I say Delerium?

A book/series more people should read: The Alchemyst series by Michael Scott, I’m surprised it’s not a bigger series because it feels like such a big world

An underrated author: I’ll go with Rematch [by] independent author Coldwell.

An underrated book:  The Blue Bloods series, I don’t think people give it enough credit. [And] Effortless With You by Lizzy Charles, it’s a really cute independent contemporary read.

Standalone or Series: Series, I think series give opportunity for lots of world building.

Trilogy or series that could have been one book: I wasn’t a huge fan of the Unearthly series by Cynthia Hand, maybe that could have been condensed. The Switch series by Amanda Hocking wasn’t my favourite either.

Harry Potter or Lord of the Rings: I’m the YABookworm, I’d be (makes cut throat motion) if I didn’t go with Harry Potter.

Hunger Games or Divergent (movies): I don’t know oh gosh! (Extended pause) I like the Divergent story more than Hunger Games, but I think Jennifer Lawrence was really good. So I’ll go with Hunger Games…but I’m really looking forward to Insurgent… I think I’ll go with Divergent because I started liking Hunger Games with Catching Fire, I think they [captured] that book better.

…To clarify, she ended up choosing Divergent out of fairness. Those feels.

Loan or borrow books: I’d rather loan, I like to have that experience with my own book. I’m okay with loaning books.
