Although it is still a number of months off before the Glee season 6 premiere, cast and crew have been back on the Paramount lot and in the Capitol Records recording studio once again.

Warning: if you don’t want to know potential spoilers, please turn back!

As always, the start of filming brings with it the start of episode spoilers, pictures and news. Last week, we were given the first confirmation of what we can expect to see in the sixth and final season of the beloved Fox dramedy. With the action predominantly back in Lima and the return of, at least, Rachel (Lea Michele), Blaine (Darren Criss), Kurt (Chris Colfer), Sam (Chord Overstreet), Artie (Kevin McHale), and Mercedes (Amber Riley) to their hometown, many have wondered what brings everyone back since they all worked so hard to escape. Hopefully we will get some kind of explanation and from spoilers released late yesterday (September 4) by Gleek Out! Brasil, we might just be getting this in the first few episodes, though they also raise a number of other questions.

Firstly, the site confirmed that episode 1 will be called “Loser Like Me”. This title was first revealed by MJsBigBlog last week. Given the press release from Fox regarding Rachel’s return to Lima, that title seems pretty self-explanatory and apropos.

The other bit of news they revealed relates to the second episode and has caused quite a stir on social media. Over the summer showrunner Ryan Murphy revealed that the finale season “dwells on the original people that were on the show and what happens to them and how they give back” and that any of the original stars would be welcome to come back. And come back they appear to have done exactly that. According to GOBr, the majority of your original favourites will be returning for the second episode – could this be the episode that Dianna Agron was recording a track for yesterday?

So who will be making an appearance in “Homecoming”?

One glaringly obvious person missing is dancer extraordinaire, Harry Shum Jr. (Mike Chang). However, the likely reason for Shum Jr’s absence is the Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon sequel, in which he has been cast as one of the leads and is currently being filmed in New Zealand and China.

While we have been given some indication of why some of the graduates are back home in Lima, having a reunion of almost the whole original cast is interesting. Previously this has only occurred for Mr Schue and Emma’s wedding-that-never-was, the tribute to Finn, and then for the final shut down of the Glee Club (and also the 100th episode celebrations). One possibility is that some scenes from this episode are not set in the present day. This was further supported by the tweet from Glee’s Director of Photography, Joaquin Sedillo, which simply read:

I have extremely mixed feelings about the upcoming final season, and the spoilers circling social media have not helped. However, I’m a glutton for punishment and am willing to hope for the best and trust in what has been said previously about the direction of the series and characters. I am extremely excited about the seeing the original cast. As much as I grew to love some of the newbies (particularly Becca Tobin’s Kitty), my heart and interest still lies with the characters from the first two seasons. There is such a history and rapport between those actors, you can tell they just love playing off each other and it is always a joy to watch. For that reason alone, I’m looking forward to “Homecoming.” As for everything else, I’m currently sitting with a ‘wait and see’ attitude.

Glee is set to return to Fox for its sixth and final season early in 2015.
