Stephen Hawking’s A Brief History of Time is one of those books that everyone should read, however I don’t know anyone who has managed it. Now thanks to this upcoming biopic we will learn the story of the man behind the robotic voice.

The Theory of Everything stars Les Miserables’ Eddie Redmayne as a young Stephen Hawking, and tells the story of Hawking and his first wife Jane Wilde.  Felicity Jones plays Wilde, who fell in love with the physicist  in the 1960’s whilst they were studying at Cambridge University.  The movie is based on Wilde’s book Travelling to Infinity: My Life with Stephen, and will also show the struggles faced by the couple following Hawking’s diagnosis with the motor neuron condition which has confined him to a wheelchair and given him the computerised voice which has become so instantly recognisable.

The cast also includes Harry Potter star David Thewlis, Emily Watson, and Charlie Cox.  The Theory of Everything will be released in the US on November 7, and in the UK on January 1, 2015.

Check out the trailer below for the first glimpse of Redmayne as Hawking. I think it could be prove to be an interesting movie to watch and could be quite the tear jerker.
