Foxcatcher is one of this year’s most talked about films, and an almost certain Oscar contender. Now it is set to make its highly anticipated British premiere at London’s BFI Film Festival.

The film directed by Bennett Miller and starring Channing Tatum alongside Steve Carell in his stellar dramatic turn, will hold its UK premiere on Thursday, October 16 and Carell will be in attendance to walk the red carpet alongside Miller and actress Sienna Miller.

Foxcatcher is based on a true story of multimillionaire John Du Pont (Carell) and his destructive and psychologically disturbing relationship with two wrestlers, Mark Schultz (Channing Tatum) and his brother Dave, played by Mark Ruffalo.

The film has been critically acclaimed elsewhere, with many praising the outstanding acting from Carell and Tatum. Director Bennett Miller said he is “thrilled that Foxcatcher will be playing the LFF and I’m thrilled to be attending.”

The BFI London Film Festival will open with Benedict Cumberbatch’s The Imitation Game on October 8 and close with Brad Pitt War drama Fury on October 19. The full schedule will be announced on September 3.
