There has been many group selfie’s over the last few months, but this one from the cast of Star Trek: The Next Generation, may be one of my personal favourites.
The cast of the show reunited at Chicago Comic Con for a special panel to mark the 20th anniversary of the final episode, which aired on May 23rd, 1994. The panel included, LeVar Burton, Patrick Stewart, Brent Spiner, Jonathan Frakes, Gates McFadden, Marina Sirtis, Michael Dorn and William Shatner who hosted the panel.
Last year, Shatner, who played Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek series, revealed that he thought that the series should return to television, after it’s success on the big screen. According to Digital Spy,”Shatner added that there is ‘always room’ for stories that ‘have a philosophy and also…an excitement about them.’” He also said, “Those were the best kind of Star Trek, those kinds of stories…That kind of imaginative approach that stirs young people into wanting to be connected with science.”
It was revealed last year that the third Star Trek movie is going back to the series’ roots by going into “deep space”, according to Roberto Orci who will replace JJ Abrams as director for the third film.
