All right my fellow Marvelites and Captain America fans, I need you to remain calm and take a sit, please. Thank you.

Our dear Anthony Mackie has revealed what we already knew somehow: Marvel Studios’ future casting change plans for Captain America.

Since the title of Cap’s sequel was announced, speculation started on Steve Rogers passing on the mantle to Bucky Barnes (played by Sebastian Stan) as in the comics, Bucky takes over his place when Cap is presumed dead; but now that in comicverse the new Captain America will be Sam Wilson aka Falcon, fans started wondering if this could happen on the MCU too.

Anthony Mackie spoke to Comicbook.com last weekend about who could take over the Captain America role:

“I don’t know. I mean I’m excited about it. I think if it goes that way in the movies that it would take a long time, because there’s so many evolutions before that. You know, I’m excited to see Sebastian play Cap. I think Sebastian’s a great actor. But I love seeing Chris Evans as Cap, so I feel like they can go any way they want. I’m enjoying my part beside Cap. I’m in no rush to be Cap”, he said.

I’m not going to lie: I would love to see Sebastian as Cap too! However, I also love Chris Evans, very, very deeply.I also think Anthony Mackie would be one hell of a Cap too.

It’s like some sort of Sophie’s choice, so I’m going to leave this decision to Marvel executives.

Chris Evans has stated he wants to take a break from acting after his contract with Marvel is over. He still has three movies to go, including Age of Ultron and Captain America 3; the third could possibly be the third Avengers film.

Sebastian Stan apparently has a big contract with Marvel for 9 movies (yes, 9!) so… yeah, maybe he will be the choice for the next Cap.

Captain America 3 will be released on May 6th 2016, going head to head with DC’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
