In what is sure to be one of the best-looking casts on television (why break the habit of the Marvel cinematic universe?!), two new agents have joined Hayley Atwell’s Peggy Carter for Agent Carter.

Marvel have announced the casting of two more series regulars, the first being Chad Michael Murray as SSR Agent Jack Thompson. Murray is renowned for his key role in One Tree Hill, as well as on the big screen in A Cinderella Story, Cavemen and Freaky Friday.

As well as this, Enver Gjokaj, best known for his role in Whedon’s Dollhouse, will take on the character of Agent Daniel Sousa. Both agents will join Carter at the pre-SHIELD Strategic Scientific Reserve (SSR) in New York City, following the war.

Inspired by Captain America: The First Avenger, and a short on the Iron Man 3 DVD, the eight-episode series will follow Peggy Carter as she “finds herself marginalized when the men return home from fighting abroad. Working for the covert SSR (Strategic Scientific Reserve), Peggy must balance doing administrative work and going on secret missions for Howard Stark all while trying to navigate life as a single woman in America, in the wake of losing the love of her life–Steve Rogers.”

Agent Carter will air on ABC in 2015, filling the slot left by Marvel’s Agents of SHIELD when it goes on winter hiatus. I was already SO excited to see more of Hayley Atwell as one of my favourite Marvel characters, but the Whedon-Gjokaj reunion, and the return of Chad Michael Murray to my TV screen on a weekly basis has me jumping for joy! 2015 just seems like so far away!
