The Bates Motel Audition Tapes: Not Quite What You’d Expect

Have you ever wondered what it looked like behind the scenes of your favourite TV show? How about what the audition process consisted of?

If you were looking for the answers to those questions, I’m afraid you’ve come to the wrong place.

During the Bates Motel panel at last weekend’s San Diego Comic-Con, showrunners Kerry Ehrin and Carlton Cuse screened what they called the audition reel for season one.

What they showed the audience was anything but.

Instead what you get is a hilarious four minute video package of Vera Farmiga’s Ukrainian Folk Dancing skills, Freddie Highmore’s Spider-Man impressions and Nestor Carbonell reminding everyone that he was once on Lost.
