The hilarious Melissa Rauch, aka Bernadette from The Big Bang Theory, will star in the new comedy film, The Bronze. The choice seems fitting since the actress, along with her husband, wrote the movie’s script.
Rauch will play a former gymnast who still has a thirst for fame and a delightfully foul mouth. A bronze medalist herself, Hope Greggory find her local celebrity status threatened when a young athlete rises as the town’s newest star.
Sebastian Stan and Gary Cole will star alongside Rauch and Bryan Buckley will direct. The film, which is shooting in Ohio, will be Rauch’s first turn as the leading lady in a movie. She previously appeared on the big screen in I Love You, Man. Having watched her evolution from being a shy, soft-spoken waitress to always funny and whip smart Mrs. Wolowitz on The Big Bang Theory, I expect Rauch will not disappoint in The Bronze.
You can follow her on Twitter for nerdy posts about Doctor Who, Agent Carter, Agents of SHIELD, Harry Potter and more.
