The preparation for Netflix’s Daredevil is definitely ramping up.
We have our hero and we have a major villain. Now let’s bring on an activist.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, Dawson has signed onto the 13-episode season in a pivotal role. She will be playing a unnamed young woman who is determined to make Hell’s Kitchen into a better place. Matt Murdoch (Charlie Cox) will unexpectedly crash into her life and they will be forever altered by their relationship.
I’m not that familiar with Daredevil lore so I need to ask, does this character sound familiar to anyone? I don’t want to say a potential love interest. I don’t even want the character to be a love interest. I am a huge fan of men and women having deep friendships on television without them going for the bedroom.
Dawson’s casting is the third major character announcement from the show. Charlie Cox as the titular Daredevil and Vincent D’Onofrio as Kingpin are the only other two roles that have been filled. The other huge change is showrunner Steven S. DeKnight taking over for Drew Goddard as the head honcho. So will Daredevil have a more intimate character interactions? Who knows.
I do really like Rosario Dawson, so I’m excited to see here joining the team.
