As Netflix begins it’s own expansion of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, we turn our sights to the first series to head into production: Daredevil.
Matt Murdoch, the titular Daredevil, has already been cast for the 2015 series. Now it’s time to work on the other characters, especially his rogue’s gallery.
Good news is that we don’t have to wait long for news!
Vincent D’Onofrio, known for his work in Law and Order: Criminal Intent, was cast in the role of Wilson Fisk a.k.a. Kingpin in the series. The news was announced today in a joint statement between Marvel and Netflix.
Jeph Loeb, Marvel’s Television Head, was particularly excited by this news.
He said: “We’re incredibly proud to have an actor with the gravitas and versatility of Vincent joining ‘Marvel’s Daredevil’ in such an integral role. Wilson Fisk is an iconic villain whose cunning and power make him the dangerous equal of our hero.”
So far the casting of Murdoch and Kingpin is making me insanely curious to see how the Daredevil television show will turn out.
