Honeymoon in Vegas is now officially booked in to open on Broadway after a successful tryout last year.

Tony Danza, Rob McClure and Brynn O’Malley will star in the musical by Andrew Bergman and Jason Robert Brown, based on the 1992 film comedy about a gambler who gets in the way of a young couple’s wedding plans. James Caan, Nicholas Cage and Sarah Jessica Parker starred in the original movie.

The show will begin previews on November 18 at the Brooks Atkinson Theatre, and will open officially on January 15.

McClure will take on the part of Jack Stringer, a nice guy who finally gets over his fear of marriage and proposes to his sweetheart Betsy, who will be played by O’Malley.

The couple head to Vegas to tie the knot, but when they meet slick gambler Tommy Korman (Danza), complications ensue as he finds himself falling for the bride-to-be.

Following its successful trial run at New Jersey’s Paper Mill Playhouse last year, New York Times’ Ben Brantley called the show a “swinging hymn to laid back outrageousness,” and applauded the “cooler-than-cool spirit of Frank Sinatra” that Danza gave to his role.

I love a good musical, and as much as I love the revivals, when a new one comes along that actually works, it’s always an incredibly exciting thing to behold. I hope the show does well, as it sounds like a really fantastic venture, and I wish the cast and crew of Honeymoon in Vegas all the luck in the world.
