Calling all members of the Cumbercollective!
We have news about our favourite man that you will definitely not like to miss. Our very dear Benedict Cumberbatch is lead of the upcoming historical drama film The Imitation Game.
Cumberbatch plays cryptographer Alan Turing, the British mathematician who was a key figure in cracking Nazi Germany’s Enigma code during World War II.
“He’s an exceptional man. I hope this film does justice to this unsung hero”, he told Entertainment Weekly.
We all know by now that Benedict is a very skilled actor who can go from a Major in World War I (War Horse) to London’s most famous detective (Sherlock), breathing life into a gold-loving dragon (Smaug on The Hobbit trilogy).
Naturally, I am pretty excited to see what he will bring in this new project.
For this role, Benedict perfected Turing’s stuttering and studied his correspondence with the mother of his high school crush.
Now that’s getting in character!
Also starring are Keira Knightley as Joan Clarke (Turing’s fiancée), Matthew Goode as Hugh Alexander, Mark Strong as Stewart Menzies and Rory Kinnear as Detective Nock.
The Imitation Game, directed by Morten Tyldum, is scheduled for release on November 14th in the UK and November 21st in the US. PS. Benedict in a suit? Careful, my heart is weak!
