Fans of television, upfronts week is almost over! CBS, FOX and ABC, have already revealed their Fall 2014 line-ups, amongst others, and today was the turn of The CW.
The schedule is mostly remaining the same, with Wednesdays and Thursdays, featuring favourites Arrow and The Vampire Diaries, remaining untouched.
The network’s breakout series of 2013/2014 The Originals moves to Mondays at 8pm, making this the first time a genre show has opened the week at the top of the CW season. Repeats of the show have already done fairly well there, however, and the second season will act as a lead in for new series Jane The Virgin.
Arrow spin-off The Flash, starring Grant Gustin, takes The Originals’ Tuesday 8pm slot before ol’ reliable Supernatural which is returning for its tenth season.
Fridays on The CW will be exclusively reality TV, with two episodes of Whose Line Is It Anyway?, followed by America’s Next Top Model.
Noticeably absent from the Fall schedule are returning favourites Hart of Dixie, and Beauty and the Beast, as well as the debut of new shows iZombie, from Veronica Mars showrunner Rob Thomas, and The Messengers, all of which will air midseason at the start of 2015.
Exact dates for the opening of the Fall schedule are yet to be announced, and trailers (aside from The Flash which you can check out HERE) are to come as the CW upfronts continue today!
